Competition Intercooler Kit for Honda Civic Type R

The high-performance intercooler has the following core dimension (650mm x 175mm x 110mm) offering a 23% larger cooling surface and 101% more charge air volume compared to the original intercooler.

The newly developed tube and fin core allows sufficient airflow to the adjacent components (i.e. water radiator) and is also very lightweight. The end tanks of the intercooler are made of cast aluminium and have been optimised under flow analyses in the CAD system. Additional air guides inside the inlet aid uniform filling of the intercooler.

The result is excellent cooling with minimum backpressure. Perfect for fast road or race. It is mounted using the original mounting points and is easy to perform (1:1 exchange). Optimum cooling of the charged air with a clear increase in performance!

Competition Intercooler Kit for Honda Civic Type R

The WAGNERTUNING high-performance intercooler has got a new competition core (Tube Fin) with the dimensions 670 mm x 183,4 mm x 125 mm (15.4 litres)/ 26,38Inch x 7,22Inch x 4,92Inch (939,76Inch³), which was developed especially for the requirements of the Honda Civic Type R FK8. This high-performance core offers a 91 % larger frontal surface and 140 % more core volume compared to the stock intercooler.

The aluminium cast end tanks were designed in CAD and optimised in CFD simulations (for an ideal internal airflow). An incorporated air baffle inside the intercooler inlet ensures a uniform filling of the intercooler. The result is an excellent cooling property with minimal backpressure. The newly developed competition high-performance core is very light and provides the adjoining components (for example the watercooler) enough airflow by using a specially prepared air baffle. That`s why this kit is perfect for racing use. An optimal cooling effect of the charged air with a significant increase in performance!

An anti-corrosion powder coating with perfect heat-conducting properties protects the WAGNERTUNING intercooler from all environmental influences, so a lasting and optimal cooling effect can be guaranteed. The installation is done by replacing the original intercooler and is easy to perform (plug and play). All our products are subject to continuous quality monitoring.

This is a direct plug-and-play exchange for the stock-mounted parts. The original Turbo Inlet restricts heavily the intake air supplied to the turbocharger. The WagnerTuning Turbo Inlet was designed with the help of CFD flow simulations for the best possible airflow.
The inner diameter has been increased from Ø48,5mm to Ø51mm. It´s a cross-sectional enlargement of almost 10%. This results in a higher maximum performance output and improved response behavior. This component is ideally suited for hybrid turbochargers.

A warranty audit will be performed on any claim regarding a catalytic converter. The high-performance intercooler core provides a 42% larger frontal area and 144% more volume compared to the stock mounted intercooler. Our engineers have increased the intercooler core size and efficiency, as well as improved the end tank design to remove any OEM bottlenecks, resulting in increased flow rating and charge cooling properties. We use our award-winning WAGNERTUNING Competition Intercooler Core which is made specifically for this application. Constructed of the highest quality Tube Fin intercooler cores with inside turbulators combined with cast aluminium end tanks optimised by CFD for best possible internal airflow. The intercooler kit was developed directly for high-tuning stages and is optionally available with Ø60mm piping. The result is excellent cooling properties and a lot less pressure drop than the stock intercooler. Despite its size the weight of the complete intercooler is only 7,5kg. This Intercooler Kit is the best choice when it comes to performance gains and low intake temperatures and is also the right thing for racing.
